In Part One of the program, we will:
- Gather general information
- Examine the background and history of the client in their sport/profession
- Take a look at the background of the client outside of their sport/profession (relevant information)
- Complete a questionnaire
- Determine the main reason(s) the client is seeking help with his/her mental game
In the second stage, we will dive into:
- The clients current mental game, strengths and areas that need improvement
- Defining what success means to the client
- Visualizing and describing themselves at their absolute best
- Selecting certain areas for improvement
- Help the client create a SMART plan/ create goals
- Teaching techniques to help with areas that need improvement
- Performing exercises to work on areas that are causing issues
- Stories/cases of other people that have dealt with similar issues
- Graphs, charts, tables, stats and other visual cues
- Articles, studies, journals, books, quotes, videos
- Meditation, visualization, breathing techniques and exercises
- Things to do and to avoid to assist in and out of competition
- Observing the athlete/individual during training and live competition
This is when the athlete/individual will apply newly learned practices and techniques into live competition/workplace.
In the final part of the program, we will:
- Examine what worked and what did not
- How can we fix or alter what did not work
- Continue to apply what worked well
- Revisiting the plan, reiterating goals
- Celebrate successes and victories
- Learn from losses and gain valuable lessons from them, bettering oneself for the future
